Sound Marine Skills, Inc., an educational 501(c)(3) Connecticut corporation will offer workplace preparation, nautical experience, specialized technical training and practical work-study expertise in the installation, maintenance and repair of propulsion, plumbing, fuel, steering, electrical, instrumentation, safety, HVAC and composite marine systems.  Specific goals for these training programs are:

  1. Provide nationally recognized, marine systems Certification training accredited by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) for entry-level service technicians and skilled workers in marinas and boatyards, marine manufacturers and retailers. 
  2. Contribute to labor pool databases maintained by the Connecticut Marine Trades Association (CMTA) and the Workforce Investment Board’s CTWorks Career Center to facilitate matching job seekers with employers for full time positions and to provide a matching system for seasonal and part-time work.
